Having co-founded COMMUNITY (communitychristian.org) and NewThing (newthing.org), I have had the chance to encourage many leaders as they begin and implement their own strategies in furthering the mission of helping people find their way back to God. Because of this, I have loved the opportunity to co-write books that give all our "secrets" away! Our book, Finding Your Way Back to God (co-authored with Dave), is for people who say they believe in God, but don't feel connected to God. That's just as real for long-time church attendees as it is for long-time spiritual wanderers. We so often sense a distance between where we are spiritually and where we want to be. Finding Your Way Back to God helps you get on the road of authentic spiritual discovery--starting right where you are. Starting Over helps people recognize the regrets we experience from our attempts to fulfill unmet longings. This back and forth between longing and regret is what we call the Sorry Cycle. We can escape this cycle the when we recognize these regrets and then release them to God as we learn to see our regrets as opportunities to start over. Finally, we can see God redeem our regrets as he takes the worst things in our lives and uses them for a greater good. Nothing needs to keep you from the joy God has for your life! What could you do with a life beyond regret? Along with coaching, inspiring and training leaders, I have not lost my love for being a practitioner. My family and I recently moved to the north side of Chicago to lead in the launch of new churches.
