Joseph Cosgriff is a client of the Doug Grad Literary Agency. Author - World on a String with John Pizzarelli, Rebel Without a Suit with Richard Press. Upcoming - The Dog who Took Me Up a Mountain with Rick Crandall (HCI, release date October 2019), and The Rivalry Begins - the 1904 Pennant Race (release date TBD, late 2020). Currently planning a book about the history of the baseball with Ed Randall (WFAN, Sirius XM). World on a String was nominated by several outlets as Jazz Book of the Year for 2013. The book was also a 2014 finalist for Audiobook of the Year, losing in its category (with Malala Yousafzai and Justice Sotomayor) to The Elephant Whisperer. Mr. Cosgriff currently serves as an unpaid intern, luncheon emcee, and backup lyricist for the BLOHARDS, the largest Boston Red Sox fan club in the U.S. located outside of Massachusetts. Many years ago he wrote the song "I Like Jersey Best," which was nominated as the NJ State Jingle but died on the Senate floor. He and John Pizzarelli occasionally put together shows that incorporate video, lecture, and live music components that honor major figures in popular music - this year's show will honor Nat Cole, whose 100th birthday is celebrated in 2019. Born in Teaneck and raised in Hasbrouck Heights New Jersey, Mr. Cosgriff attended many schools including Corpus Christi Grammar School, Bergen Catholic HS, Columbia University, Harvard University, Hasbrouck Heights HS Adult School typing (at 15), and Immaculate Conception HS (speed reading at 13). He currently takes golf lessons. A resident of New York City, Mr. Cosgriff takes his coffee at the Lucid Cafe on 38th St. and Lexington Avenue.
