Judson Poling is currently President of Cambia Resources, LLC a consulting and team development firm. He is a free-lance writer and life-coach, and spent 29 years on the staff of Willow Creek Community Church doing a variety of roles including volunteer leadership development and authoring innovative growth resources. He is also the founding Board Chairman of The Crucible Project, a not-for-profit transformational retreat ministry for men with chapters in the United States, Mexico and Australia.
He has over 1.8 million copies of his books in circulation. He is general editor of The Journey: A Study Bible for Spiritual Seekers. He also wrote, Taking the Old Testament Challenge and Interpretation: Discovering the Bible for Yourself. He is coauthor of the Walking with God series (with Don Cousins); the Pursuing Spiritual Transformation series (with John Ortberg and Laurie Pederson); the Tough Questions series (with Garry Poole); The Be With Factor: Mentoring Students in Everyday Life (with Bo Boshers); The Fight: Winning the Battles that Matter Most (with Craig Groeschel); and The Making of a Man (with Tim Brown, Heisman Trophy winner).
He has three Silver Medallion awards from the ECPA; a Masters of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; and a BA in Hebrew and Semitic Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also an ordained minister.
He raised two children, Anna (married to Ben) and Ryan (married to Erika), without killing either one of them (!)—so he now can spoil his three grandsons Max, Jack and Jett. He also managed to get his wife, Deb Poling, to stay married to him since 1978.
