Jürgen Salenbacher, Designer/MBA, is a business and brand coach, innovation facilitator and keynote speaker. He designs and facilitates learning experiences for personal and organisational growth around the world.
Born in 1970, he began his career as an art director in Munich, Germany after studying design in Freiburg. While working in advertising he took a Public Relations diploma at the Bayerische Akademie für Werbung (BAW) in Munich. In the years that followed he travelled the world, working in design, marketing and communications.
His experience in positions local and world brands is unique. Clients of his have included Adidas, Bayer Healthcare, Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Lego, Louis Vuitton, Novartis, Roca, Swatch and Vittel.
In 1997 he co-founded the creative agency D-Office, taking the role of Managing Director. In 2002 he was appointed Director of Marketing for The Performers (Omnicom Group), a leading
agency for celebrities, sponsorship and venues. In 2005, after finishing an MBA at EADA Business School in Barcelona, he joined Global Healthcare as Director of Strategy.
He has been teaching at the IED Design Universities in Barcelona and Florence, Hyper Island in Stockholm and HSLU Luzern for many years. In 2011 he was appointed Academic Dean of IED, Istituto Europeo di Design Barcelona, where he focused on Design Management and Business Design to foster change in Design Education.
Since 2013 he has worked as an innovation facilitator for a utility company facilitating innovation management, with a focus on digital design thinking, smart city strategy and competence
building.
His first book, Creative Personal Branding, now in its sixth English edition, has also been published in Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian. He has given talks, workshops and masterclasses
in Barcelona, Bilbao, Florence, Lucerne, Tallinn, Vienna and Zürich. Work-study destinations have included Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, China, Colombia, Estonia, Ethiopia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, USA, UK, Israel, Italy, India, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.
His vision is to work with as many people as possible from as many countries as possible, while keeping a human-centred approach. When approached with new projects, his first question is likely to be how we will collaborate, share stories and share culture and work in a meaningful way.
He currently lives with his wife in Barcelona, enjoying tennis and the beach. Other interests include art, design, fashion, architecture, photography and travel.
