I grew up in a family of storytellers and consider words my first and most enduring playthings. My own storytelling mission is to delight children, to fuel their love of language, and by the alchemy of words turn them into lifelong readers. While I've written everything from newspaper articles and magazine essays to poetry and messages for greetings cards and fortune cookies, I particularly like to write fun and funny picture books. My newest one is TOO MANY PIES! I love sweet treats -- baking them and eating them! My husband and I live in the east central Minnesota countryside where we've raised twin daughters, cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, and a variety of rescued wildlife.
