Lisa M. Lilly's Q.C. Davis mystery series introduces a savvy lawyer/private detective with a background in stage acting, following the clues through Chicago with wit and determination. The stories touch on themes like kindness prevailing over evil, likable characters, found families, and strong female leads. Beyond mysteries, Lilly authored the Awakening supernatural thriller series. Her urban horror piece "The Tower Formerly Known as Sears" got the short film treatment as "Willis Tower." The second Q.C. Davis mystery, "The Charming Man," made waves as a 2019 Wishing Shelf Book Award finalist. Lilly embarked on her artistic journey early on, scoring her first gig as a singer/songwriter in a Chicago coffeehouse at the age of sixteen. By nineteen, she was touring the United States with an all-gal bluegrass band, appearing in venues from local bars to the Grand Ole Opry stage at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Today, she wears multiple hats as a novelist, lawyer, and poet. Lilly's work extends to various publications, showcasing her fiction and poetry. She also hosts the podcast "Buffy and the Art of Story."
