Pamela Seda, Ph.D, is a wife, mother of four adult children, and a math educator with over 30 years of experience. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida. She completed both her Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Mathematics Education at Georgia State University. After working in higher education, Dr. Seda returned to K-12 education as a mathematics teacher, instructional coach, and mathematics coordinator for various school districts in the metro Atlanta area, including Griffin-Spalding County Schools, where she currently serves as the Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator. Dr. Seda presents at numerous state, regional, and national conferences. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Georgia Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, Georgia Association of Curriculum and Instructional Supervisors, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has also served on the board of the Benjamin Banneker Association and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics. Dr. Seda is the owner of Seda Educational Consulting, LLC and creator of the VANG Game math card game. She is passionate about providing positive mathematical experiences for students who have not previously experienced mathematical success. For her, “success” is not simply passing a class, but rather being able to use mathematics as a tool to reason, analyze, communicate, and open doors of opportunity. For this reason, Dr. Seda continually seeks to help all students experience mathematics the way she did—as something positive and empowering.
