Patrice M. Dabrowski is a historian with degrees from Harvard University and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She has taught and worked at Harvard, Brown, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the University of Vienna. Dr. Dabrowski is currently an Associate of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, a local affiliate of the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, a member of the Board of Directors of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (PIASA), and editor-in-chief of H-Poland. She is the author of three books: The Carpathians: Discovering the Highlands of Poland and Ukraine, Poland: The First Thousand Years, and Commemorations and the Shaping of Modern Poland. In 2014 Dr. Dabrowski was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. She is the 2021 recipient of the Mary Zirin Prize. Her book The Carpathians won two honorary mentions in 2022: Pro Historia Polonorum, and Best Foreign Publication Promoting Poland's History (the latter from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
