Peter Pitsch was born in Herford, Germany, he lived in Bielefeld, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rome, Copenhagen and Nykøbing, southern Denmark, among other places. As a teenager he wrote poems and short stories for the first time and provided them with illustrations. During a long stay in Italy he gained experience as an actor. He was involved in twelve film projects and several commercials and embodied "Death" in a play. He has worked with directors such as Dario Argento, Lamberto Bava and Mauro Bolognini. He then traveled to Denmark and lived for a few years in Copenhagen's Vesterbro district, on the same street where the poet Tove Ditlevsen once grew up. He published his first book in the early 1990s, and various publications followed. In addition, his reviews, poems and prose texts have appeared in magazines and anthologies. In 2000 he moved to Nykøbing on the island of Falster. Peter is a member of the Danish writers' association stORDstrømmen. Brighton Verlag near Frankfurt has been publishing his works since 2011. His publications include novels, collections of poetry, short stories, children's books, art and photo books and a travel guide. His best-known titles to date are the satirical novel Cuckoo's Egg Syndrome and the psychological thriller W-E-L-T. In addition to literary writing, he works as a translator and devotes himself to the design of book covers, photography and fine arts. His paintings and works of photographic art are exhibited at home and abroad. In 2017, Peter opened his own art gallery in Nykøbing's Latin Quarter.
