Sue Williams is an award-winning journalist and columnist who's written for all of Australia's leading newspapers and magazines, as well as having her own opinion segment on a TV show. Born in England, she has also worked in print and TV in the UK and New Zealand and spent many years travelling extensively around the world. She has written a number of best-selling biographies, including Mean Streets, Kind Heart: The Father Chris Riley Story, on the Catholic priest who's dedicated his life to helping streetkids, Peter Ryan: The Inside Story on the controversial former NSW Police Commissioner, and Father Bob about Australia's highest profile campaigner for social justice. Despite being a confirmed city-slicker, she's also written four immensely popular books about the Australian Outback. Her most recent is Heroines of the Outback, while the previous in the series was a travel book about her own personal adventures exploring the Outback, which included a fight in an Outback boxing tent, a cattle drive - her first time on horseback - and a trek through one of the most remote stretches of wilderness in the world. Her first travel book was Getting There: Journeys of an Accidental Adventurer, about her time travelling the world alone with a backpack. Crime-writing is also a passion, and she wrote And Then The Darkness about the Peter Falconio killing, a book that was short-listed for the best true-crime book of the year in the international Gold Dagger Awards. In 2013, she wrote Left For Dead, about a policewoman's heart-wrenching fight for life after a brutal attack. Other books include Love, Obsession, Secrets & Lies, Death of a Doctor, a motivational women's health guide, Powering Up, and Apartment Living: The Complete Guide to Buying, Renting, Surviving and Thriving In Apartments.
