Tad Crawford is an author, publisher, and attorney. His most recent work is A Woman in the Wild: A Novel. The novel tells the story of Thea, a psychologist, whose grown daughter has broken off with her and refuses any contact. Taking a leave of absence from her practice in the city, Thea goes to an institute in the mountains where she seeks to understand her actions and lessen her pain. Amid her grieving and self-exploration, a "wild" man who has kept company with a bear is brought to the institute and given to her care in the hope she can heal him. “This tale of a psychologist in crisis is immediately and deeply captivating. Crawford is the founder and publisher of Allworth Press. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts award, he grew up in the artists’ colony of Woodstock, New York.
