WILL LOWREY is an attorney and animal rights advocate from Richmond, Virginia. He holds a juris doctor from Vermont Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. After 20 years in the corporate world, Will embarked on a more fulfilling endeavor and entered law school to pursue a career in animal law. During law school, Will interned with an animal crimes prosecution unit and a non-profit filing civil suits on behalf of animals. In 2017, Will graduated from law school after only two and a half years. For close to two decades, both before and after law school, Will has been actively involved in animal causes. His experiences include deployments to assist animals in disasters, the closure of roadside zoos, caring for animals from dog and cock fighting cases, community outreach for low income pet owners in areas ranging from urban neighborhoods to Native American reservations, animal rights protests, animal sheltering, public records campaigns against large institutions conducting animal research, and countless other adventures. While Will has always been a casual writer of fiction including short stories, and poems, he recently discovered the world of self-publishing and was immediately engrossed. His first novel, “Chasing the Blue Sky,” has been regularly featured in the Top 10 animal rights books on Amazon, received acclaim from numerous blogs and review sites, and was produced as an audiobook. Will has since published several additional works on animal rights and is actively working on more. Will also authored the legal article “We the Pit Bull: The Fate of Pit Bulls Under the United States Constitution” published in the Lewis and Clark Animal Law Review Journal, Volume 24, Issue 2.
