    MY WHY:

I have always loved working in the food industry, server, bartender, and restaurant business. Growing up on a large farm in the Midwest has given me inspiration to help others learn how to eat wisely and how to spend money sensibly on food. Currently I have a full time job working with children and a busy schedule. I enjoy doing this on the side, to help anyone find an ease in cooking. I feel I’m relatable when it comes to all the above on what most of us are looking for in life.

This week we are making Homemade Bagels 🥯 These can be made for eating ham & cheese, PB&Jelly, Cream Cheese or anything!!

    Ingredients:
    - 3/4 c Warm Water

    - 1 packet of yeast
    - Dash…Sugar ( I use stevia)

    - 2 c of Flour (I use coconut or rice flour

    - Any extras you want (jalapenos or honey etc.)

    - Dash… Salt (pink himalayan salt is what I use)

    - Olive Oil

    - 1 Egg (white part only, no yolk) set aside for a wash

    - Large pot of water - set aside for later

    Instructions:

    1. Mix warm water and ½ packet of yeast, stir with non-metal item and let sit for 5 minutes

    2. Mix in a separate bowl - Flour, sugar, salt and oil

    3. Add in yeast mix

    4. Hand mix for approximately 10 minutes or use a Kitchen aid

    5. Drizzle olive oil all over the dough and set aside to rise 2 hours or so

    6. Massage the dough down and tear into medium palm sized manageable parts

    7. Form a nice smooth ball for each one (like making cookies)

    8. Once you have your balls formed, let rest for 15 minutes

    9. Turn on oven to 425 and get your pot of water boiling (turn water down to med)

    10. Line a baking sheet (parchment on mine) with cornmeal (nice amount)

    11. Use your fingers (first two) create a decent hole in the center of each dough ball

    12. Brush egg whites all over each bagel dough

    13. Drop into boiling (simmering) pot of water for 2 minutes on each side

    14. Remove and lay onto pan with cornmeal, once all on pan

    15. Put into the oven for 10-15 minutes (nice light golden brown)

    16. Remove, let cool, and ENJOY!! So Delicious! 🙂
