Syracuse Orange Football Head Coach Fran Brown secured his second verbal commitment of the class of 2026 from three-star cornerback Jaxson Gates. Gates chose Syracuse due to the program being on the rise and Fran Brown's history of teaching defensive backs at Georgia. Gates joins fellow 2026 three-star D'Antae Sheffey as Syracuse's high school recruiting current class.

Syracuse Orange Basketball lost both of its games in the Legends Classic to the Texas Longhorns and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Syracuse Head Coach Adrian Autry should be concerned about the three-point shooting this season. Chris Bell is under 30% from deep to start after being the second best shooter in the ACC last season. The defense improved with Jyare Davis and Lucas Taylor having strong performances against Tre Johnson and JT Toppin. Syracuse also did move up in the KenPom rankings, despite the losses.

Syracuse Orange Football got its eighth win of the season, taking down the UConn Huskies 31-24. Kyle McCord led Fran Brown's Syracuse squad with 477 yards and three total touchdowns. Oronde Gadsden, Jackson Meeks, and Darrell Gill each recorded over 100 receiving yards for the Cuse, but Syracuse did lose receivers Trebor Pena and Umari Hatcher due to injury. Justin Barron and Duce Chestnut made critical defensive stops against UConn. Finally, the stage is set for the Orange to host the Miami Hurricanes with ESPN's College Gameday potentially coming to town.
