En enero de 1950, en un pequeño pueblo de tres mil habitantes se produjo un asesinato, al tiempo que desapareció una hermana del muerto. Durante un tiempo no hubo acusaciones, mientras que se creaba un ambiente de miedo. Dos años y medio después apareció un segundo cadáver y se empezó a acusar a tres paisanos, un sobrino, un hermano y un cuñado del primer fallecido. Las murmuraciones fueron en aumento, hasta que la Guardia Civil confeccionó un sumario poco consistente, que terminó con la declaración de inocencia de los tres acusados por un juzgado.
