An archaeological dig has turned up an artefact in the shape of a granite circle. Unknown to those on the dig, it is a wishing stone of ancient provenance. Wishes have unforeseen consequences, and the magic ability of the Granite Circle is discovered more by accident than design. Because of what happens to Ash, an emotional Ruth Beaumont swears vengeance.
