He says in his latest book MINDSETS: "If you are like the vast majority of us then no one taught you how to understand and manage your self. No one showed you how, as a 'being of consciousness', you actually work. No one could help you to realize who you 'really' are and what you are here to do. It's not an academic subject. It doesn't even come under 'parental guidance' because they probably didn't know themselves. It's not even in the domain of psychology, psychiatry or any therapy! It's in the territory of self-awareness and self-realization which are the foundations for self-management. Cultivate each of these aspects of self-understanding and all is gradually revealed from 'inside out'. Thirty five years ago, after an intense period of stressful living, I started to realize all this. Fifteen years ago I started to write about it. This past year three more books were published on how to be well, be clear and be your self. When you are well, when you have clarity, when you are being authentic, your happiness follows naturally. Books don't change you. No book can actually change the way you think, what you feel, the decisions you make and how your life will unfold. That's your job. But they do provide signposts and signals, insights and wisdom, inspiration and guidance. They 'help' you to realize and know for self how to live your life with greater clarity and compassion, satisfaction and success, love and laughter. Above all, laughter!"
