Perhaps my mom would tell you that she always knew I was “different.” I am a recovering people pleaser, control freak, worrier, and MF'r. One thing I know is that life sometimes hurts, and we can’t run from that. We have a choice of whether or not deny it or go with it. I’ve learned that going with it is a better investment, but I need to laugh while I’m doing it. After more than 20 years of providing counseling services, I developed the idea of combining cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness techniques, and profanity to help people get over themselves and what keeps them from achieving what they want. People tell me it works because laughter helps transcend pain. I am not going to try and dazzle you with a lot of BS about my credentials. I have a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. I am board certified in Health Psychology. I have learned a shitload from talking with people with real problems, from having been married, having two kids and a dog (Bacon) who is like my third child, and having lost people I love. I am a human being and a work in progress just like you. I live in Michigan where it is way too cold for way too long. Exercising is my favorite and most hated past-time and the best medicine you can take for any distress. My hope is that, through this website, I can make you laugh and feel a tiny bit better because life is way too short.
