Publisher's Summary

WITHOUT THE DARKNESS, LIGHT HAS NO PURPOSE.

WITHOUT THE VILLAIN, WHAT WOULD THE GODS DO?

INDIA, 3400 BCE.

A land in tumult, poverty and chaos. Most people suffer quietly. A few rebel. Some fight for a better world. Some for themselves. Some don't give a damn. Raavan. Fathered by one of the most illustrious sages of the time. Blessed by the Gods with talents beyond all. Cursed by fate to be tested to the extremes.

A formidable teenage pirate, he is filled with equal parts courage, cruelty and fearsome resolve. A resolve to be a giant among men, to conquer, plunder, and seize the greatness that he thinks is his right.

A man of contrasts, of brutal violence and scholarly knowledge. A man who will love without reward and kill without remorse.

This exhilarating third book of the Ram Chandra series sheds light on Raavan, the king of Lanka. And the light shines on darkness of the darkest kind. Is he the greatest villain in history or just a man in a dark place, all the time?

Listen to the epic tale of one of the most complex, violent, passionate and accomplished men of all time.

Please note: This audiobook is in Hindi.

Story is different but logical

The story is narrated very well. Presenting Ravan's prospective was good thinking. This is not ramayana we saw in Ramanad Sagar, but story is good and feels real. E.g. The reason Lord Shriram faced banwas is completely changed in the book.

Spectacular... Marvelous... Beyond Imagination..!!

How could anyone think & imagine such a great story in a one go... which has been written in multiple parts and interconnected with each other....it's impossible without blessings of some supernatural powers....Amish Sir u r blessed and chosen one to tell us such an amazing, probably the real story which might have happened that time....God bless you Sir...God has been chosen u to tell us what was actually happened that time..... only I am not happy with some words like cabin, shukriya etc which are not Hindi words.....they disturb the ease of story..... anyways....couldn't wait to listen...to the last part of it ...🥰

Superb narration

Wonderful story telling. The dialogs between Raavan and Kumbhkaran are interesting. Fully enjoyed listening all the 3 audio books. Waiting for next one in Hindi!

Loved the reading, Did not like the storyline

Despite wanting to like these stories, I think I have grown out of them. Though I enjoyed the audible hindi version due to the amazing narration, I found so many wierd points like the continuous current names of continents and the lame timeline. Like seriously? If you want to make fiction, name them differently.
Another ick was the mention of Swami Malai, like what was the point of all this unnecessary political discussion?

One problem with these books I have are people reading these and hoping/feeling this is what Hinduism is.

Raavan is not a character of mercy. He did not love Sita's mother. Ved Vati was originally mistreated by Raavan who in turn cursed Raavan that he would be burnt alive if he touches another women without her wishes.

Despite all this I do believe KumbhKaran's character was relatable and the most closest to the original character in a sense for his dedication to his brother and his sense of Dharma at the end.

I would still read The War of Lanka if it is released in Hindi because Hindi texts are better that the repeated and weirdly paused English ones.

Now, at last addressing the part where everyone has an issue saying most of the story is repeated. Well yes, is the same story different narratives.
This could have been done better and in a single book but okay.

Of the three books, I enjoyed Raavan the most, Followed by Ram and Sita the last.

Till next,
Love
Luna

Visualizing listening experience

Amish ji your thoughts are beyond imagination, a very well portrayed part of Ravaan. Just by listening I can visualise the characters. I would love to see if someone picks this and makes a movie out of it. Jai Shree Ram.
